Customer service. Being a small family business, Lancastle offers a personal service to all our customers with one of the directors being a consistent point of contact. Without layers of management we can take decisions quickly to remain flexible and cost-effective
Sewn product design expertise. Between us, the Directors have decades of design expertise ranging from Powered Air Purifying Respirators and specialist maintenance covers to medical products and sports clothing. We can work with you to design new product or refine the design of existing product, having experience of working with large multi-national design teams to one person operations.
Sewing capabilities. We have over 40 sewing machines covering 14 classes of stitch:
- Straight lockstitch – general seaming and finishing
- Straight lockstitch walking foot – general seaming and finishing on heavy or thick materials including leather or plastics
- Straight lockstitch binders – application of bindings to raw edge of fabrics
- Straight lockstitch metered elastic – application of elastic under preset tensions
- Zig-zag lockstitch – strengthening stitches and bar tacks
- Programmable lockstitch – high speed repeatable lockstitch sewing such as flagstitches, squares
- Lockstitch buttonhole – buttonholes in programmable lengths and styles
- Chainstitch binder – application of bindings
- Chainstitch button sewer – attachment of buttons
- Multi-needle chainstitch elastication – elastication of waistbands on sports clothing
- 2 or 3 needle coverstitch – seam neatening and flattening
- 2 or 3 thread overedge/overlock chainstitch – neatening and stabilising raw edges of fabrics
- 4 thread overedge/overlock chainstitch – general seaming and stabilising raw edges of fabrics
- 4 thread overedge/overlock chainstitch metered elastic – application of elastic under preset tensions whilst neatening and stabilising raw edges of fabrics
